Happy Friday O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families! The countdown has begun…and we could not be more excited to have our students back in the building next week. We have been working so hard to put our building back together after our new flooring installation…it has been a lot of work…yet it is so worth it…our school looks beautiful.
We hosted our Kindergarten Picnic today and it was so lovely meeting our newest students and their families. They are so full of...everything good...it just fills my heart. We will be hosting our Backpack Drop off event for our 1st - 5th grade students on Monday, August 15th from 5:00 - 6:00. Please plan on popping over to meet your child's teacher...see their classroom...and to drop off school supplies. We hope to see you there!
Our first bell for the start of school will be at 9:00 and the second bell will ring at 9:05. Our exterior doors will be closed and locked after the second bell and if students arrive after that time, they must ring the bell by the front door to enter into the building. The front office staff will check them in and ensure that they make it to class.
Please recall that our campus is open to students at 8:50 as that is when our staff supervision begins. Please do not have your student arrive before that time period as our team does not provide outside support until 8:50. If your child eats breakfast with us…they may arrive on campus and line up at the front door at 8:40. If you are interested in placing funds in your child’s breakfast/lunch account you can locate the link on our O’Dea Core Knowledge website.
Our school day ends at 3:38 and students must promptly leave campus unless they are supervised by a parent/adult guardian. Please be sure to arrive on time to pick up your child as we very often have meetings that begin right after school, so it is important for us to be able to be on time for them. Thank you for your support.
I am also attaching our August calendar for families here August 2022 Family.pdf and will plant the seed that our K – 4 Family Back to School Night will be hosted on Thursday, September 1st . We will be hosting two sessions for families and will host our first session from 4:45 – 5:15 and will offer a second session option from 5:30 – 6:00. Please plan on attending one of these time slots to learn more about O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary…and classroom information for the school year. More information will be coming out to families from your classroom teacher…so please keep an eye out for that.
Our 5th grade team will be hosting their Back to School Night/Eco Week Parent Night separately on Thursday, August 25th from 5:30 – 6:30.
Please let your children know…that we cannot wait to see them next week. Please let them know that we have been busily preparing for their return…and that our school…is not a school until they arrive and fill it with the love and laughter that we will know that they will bring.
