Friday, September 23rd update on the update

Happy Friday O’Dea Core Knowledge Families!  I have just a few quick reminders for families…and they all have to do with FUN…so please check them out below:

On Monday, September 26th we are launching our Boosterthon Fun Run Fundraising campaign.  It is a great opportunity to raise funds for our school…for a great cause!  We are hoping to invest in new playground equipment that will keep our students engaged…outside…and having fun!  A great playground filled with friends…is always a great choice for families!   We will be sending home materials with students on Monday…yet wanted to send a special sponsorship letter to families a bit early.  We are hoping to connect our local businesses to our fundraising efforts so if you have a connection…please share the attached letter.  Our community is always so generous…so if we can get the word out…we can give them the opportunity to be a part of something great! Please see the attached letter and feel free to share it with any business that you are connected to. O'Dea Owls Sponsorship Letter.pdf

We are also hosting a super fun Dinner Night Out Event at Smok BBQ in the Foothills Mall on Wednesday, September 28th.  It will be from 4:00 – 8:00 and not only will Smok BBQ be donating a portion of the proceeds to our PTA…there will be outdoor games available for families as well and we are hoping for an outdoor movie available for free as well.  If you are looking for a night off of cooking...to spend some time outside with your family…and to connect with our O'Dea community...please join in on the fun! I am attaching the flyer here for you to review.SMOK_1UP.pdf

On a final note…our fifth grade Eco Adventure was simply a trip of a lifetimeThe weather brought out the best in us…taught us that we have more grit than we think…and that a new best friend is just a few steps away.  It is a heavy lift for our team to pull this off…yet we would not miss it for the world.  There are some things that are just worth doing…and doing it right is a priority for us.  I will sleep well this weekend…and also look forward to adventuring with all my future fifth graders.

Happy weekending!

Much love and support,

Laurie
