Friday, December 9th Family Update

Happy Friday O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families!  It has simply been an amazing week filled with deep learning…deep laughter and beautiful weather.  We have been busy preparing to wrap up the 2022 side of this school year and planning for the launch of 2023.

Last night we hosted our K – 5 Choir Performance and it was simply perfect.  Thank you to everyone who was able to join us…it was standing room only! I loved watching our youngest of students in our Junior Choir really get into their performance.  I love their authenticity and enthusiasm.  The event was perfectly timed for the holiday season ahead of us…and there is always something about the sound of young children singing…that just crawls into my heart…and brings tears to my eyes.  A special thank you goes out to Mrs. Mclaren, our music teacher, for the time…effort…energy…and love that she brings to our students.  We are very lucky that she is here with us!

With that said…we have our Third Grade Performance scheduled for next week on Thursday, December 15th at 6:00.   It is another great opportunity to see our students perform and to share the love of music with our school community.

We will be wrapping up this semester on Wednesday, December 21st and will be hosting our schoolwide Talent Show that morning.  If your child is performing in the show, parents are welcome to join us.  We cannot open it up to our entire school community as we simply cannot all smoosh in the gym together.  We will be recording it and will have it available for families to view after the event.  It is always a fun and hilarious time of year, and we know that the Men’s Act will be coming up with something super special again this year.  It is always a fun surprise!

We will also be hosting our next PTA meeting on Monday, December 12th at 6:00.  I am attaching information and the link here for you to join us.  They are always a great way to connect with families and our school community…and they are online so you can participate from the warmth of your own homes.  Please review the information below:

Thank you for all the joy that you are bringing onto our campus every day!  I am thankful for the school community that we have built that supports us in loving our work.  The holiday season can be stressful at times, yet a strong community always helps weather those busy times.  Thank you for your contributions to the calm…to the peace…and for always bringing a little extra joy with you when you are on campus.

As always, please reach out with any questions…we are here to help!

Happy weekending!

Much love and support,

Laurie
