A great week @ O’Dea and we loved seeing everyone for the Halloween Parade!  We look forward to seeing everyone for Book Fair next week! We are still looking for parents to help with Book Fair.  If you can help sign up here!

Reminders

  • Arrival – we are still having some early arrivals in the morning – students can arrive at 8:40 for breakfast – and 8:50 for all other students.  Please make sure NOT to drop off early – we do not have staff supervision until 8:50. 
  • Picking students up – we always try and optimize our time with students – our policy is to call students down when parent arrives at the school.  Thanks for your patience!

Candy Buy Back - Students can bring in Halloween candy for owl slips. Multiples of 25 will earn owl slips. Students need to count candy and bring it to the office. For every 25 pieces of candy they will earn an owl slip. No limit to how much they can bring in.

11/6, 7, 8 & 9th Book Fair

  • Tuesday 11/7 Family Book Fair and Burritos – come have burritos and shop for books as a family 8-9 am!
  • Thursday 11/9 Family Book Fair and Donuts– come have a donut and shop for books as a family 8-9 am!

11/8th – 15th O’Dea Food Drive – Please see attachment for items you can donate! Food Drive

11/13 Kinard Informational Night @ O’Dea 6-7pm.  Kinard staff will be here to answer any questions you might have about Kinard Middle School.  They will also have an Open House 11/28/23 @ Kinard. 

11/17 New Principal Coffee Talk @ 8:00 – Join Dr. Martin for an open Q and A and informational session.  Ask questions, learn about O’Dea, and give us some feedback!

11/28 - School Accountability Committee 5-6pm – Review O’Dea school data and school goals for this year and next year.  Parents learn about O’Dea current level of success, strategic priorities, and provide input on our next steps to keep O’Dea great!  If you are interested in joining this committee, we will have additional meetings on 1/30 and 4/2.  Please let me know if you have questions or can attend (e: alexm@psdsschools.org)!
