Friday, April 9th family update ~ from Ms. Corso

Good afternoon O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families!  It has been a whirlwindy week here at school whew!  The children loved the sunshine and warm temperatures at the beginning of the week, and they were a bit disappointed at the colder temperatures yesterday and today.  Please note that next week the temperatures will be dropping again, and we may even get another round of snow…so please make sure the kiddos do not transition to summer clothes just yet!  Colorado may give us a good April snow shower.

On a transparency note, we did send two classrooms home for remote learning this week.  Both were cases that began outside of the school setting, yet to keep our students safe…we send our classrooms home to quarantine and host remote learning.  Our team is continuing to work diligently to sanitize our spaces…keep handwashing going…masks are up and social distancing as much as we can, yet we are not out of the woods just yet.   Please continue to support us in our efforts to keep our school open by keeping your children home if they have symptoms…by taking care of yourself and other family members and continuing to follow Larimer County Health Department COVID guidelines for our community.  Thank you…thank you!  We really LOVE having our children at school with us so thank you for all that you are doing to ensure that our teachers can keep teaching.

Our CMAS assessment window is getting ready to open.  Please remember that if you are a parent of a 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student and would like to either opt them into optional assessments…or opt them out of the assessments for the year you can do so in our district ParentVUE program.  If you need help navigating this…you are welcome to call the front office and connect with Mrs. Noland at 970.488.4450.  If you have questions about the CMAS assessment overall…you can reach out to Mr. Joyal at 970.488.4450.

A special thank you to families for your support of our Light It Up Blue Spirit Week.  We typically host a high level of love…kindness…and compassion in our building…yet this week…we simply shone like a million stars in the sky.  I know that I say this all the time…yet your children…are simply beautiful little humans and we are so lucky to get to be with them every day.

Happy weekending!

Much love and support,

Laurie
