Good afternoon O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families! Whew! It has been a whirlwind of a week…and let me tell you…when my head hits my pillow…that I instantly fall asleep as I am simply exhausted. The good news…is that when I wake in the morning…I cannot wait to get to school and do it all over again.
It has been a lovely week of reconnecting…community building…reigniting our relationships with our students…and setting the stage for the rest of fall. Our students have entered our building ready and eager to learn…and very happy to be back with their friends and their teachers. You can see it in their smiles…hear it in their laughter…and feel it in their hugs. It just feels right and good.
Thank you for sending your children to us ready to go…and for supporting our new protocols as we work to keep our school open for in person learning. I am attaching our PSD fall protocols here PSD Fall Protocols.pdf to help us all stay on the same page. It has information about masks and what to do when you child is not feeling well. It is super important that children remain home if they are ill and that they only return to school when they are symptom free. It is recommended that students are symptom free for twenty-four hours before returning to school.
Our specialists are super excited to see our students as well and have mapped out their first block rotations for families here. Block #1 Specials Newsletter.pdf Please check it out to see what your child will be learning in Art…Music…P.E…Counseling…Library and Technology. Our grade level curriculum maps are also available on our website so you can see how your child’s year will be unfolding across the content areas as well.
As always…thank you for sending your children to us. Thank you for trusting us to teach them…and to take good care of them while they are here. We take that job very seriously…and know that you are counting on us.
Please always reach out with questions or thoughts. We are here to help.
Much love and support,
Laurie
