Thursday, September 16th Family update

Happy Thursday O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families!  It is a long three day weekend for families, so I am sending out our weekly update a day early.  Our teachers will be spending the day tomorrow planning for the rest of the semester…digging into our beginning of the year data and collaborating with their team mates to create the most effective and meaningful lessons for your children.  It will be a full and busy day for teachers.  

Our PTA is hosting another Dinner Night Out at Torchy’s Tacos.  Please feel free to take a break from cooking…gather your friends…and eat out at Torchy’s on Thursday, September 30th.  A portion of the proceeds will be donated back to O’Dea.  Check out the flyer here:  Torchy's Tacos.docx

As we enter into fall…we also enter into our Boosterthon/Feather Flurry Fun Run fundraising season!  We try to host only one big fundraiser for families each year, so we really dig in deep for our Fun Run as it does provide so many amazing opportunities for our students each year.   It is a fundraiser…and a FUN raiser because our students LOVE the Fun Run event.  They love getting outside with their friends…running as many laps as they can…and celebrating with their classmates at the end of the day. 

We are excited to kick off our event with our Pep Rally on Monday, September 27th. Our goal is to raise $40,000 to provide enriching classroom experiences and strengthen student and family engagement in our school community. Our school has always relied on fundraising to provide exceptional opportunities to enhance student learning and we need your help.

We completely understand if your family is not in a position to financially support the school right now. You can still be involved by simply SHARING about our fundraiser with friends and extended family online at MYBOOSTER.COM. Teachers will be setting up their classrooms next week.  Sharing IS supporting! Just as we worked to safely begin school this year, we are also safely hosting this essential fundraiser based on our school’s current guidelines. We’ll send more details, as we get closer to our kickoff.
