Friday, November 5th Family Update

Happy Friday O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families!  It definitely felt like the week after Halloween for us this week…it was busy…full of energy…and we will all drop into our beds at the end of today and sleep deep.

Please remember that we do not have school on Monday, November 8th as it is a teacher workday for our staff.  We look forward to seeing the students on Tuesday, November 9th.

We are also hosting our First Annual Burritos and Bookfair event on Tuesday, November 9th from 8:00 – 9:00 (before school).  You are welcome to join us on our playground area as we roll out of Scholastic Bookfair and hand out burritos to our school community.  I cannot imagine a better way to start the day than perusing some great new titles…while munching on a delicious burrito.  Our campus will be open to families early on Tuesday (and Friday) to provide the opportunity for families to have a breakfast snack with us and check out all the new books from Scholastic.  I am attaching a few things for families here:

Thank you as well for the support of our food drive for O’Dea families.  Our goal is to provide twelve families with a hearty meal for the holidays.  Each grade level has been assigned an item to bring so if you are at the grocery this weekend and could pick up an item to donate…that would be lovely! Check out the flyer for the event here:  Food Drive Menu 2021.pdf

I hope that you all enjoy the lovely weekend that is in front of us…that we all get outside into the sunshine a little bit…and that we bring that light into our work next week as well.

Much love and happy weekending,

Laurie
