Friday, November 12th - Family Update

Happy Friday O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary Families!  It has been so lovely having the opportunity to spend some time with our families before school this week.  Thank you to everyone who was able to pop over for our Before School Bookfair and Breakfast events this week.  I don’t think I realized how much I missed seeing you all…until this week.  Your faces…and smiles…really started the day off full of love and a sense of community…and I am thankful for that.

On a school community note…please feel free to join us for an ice skating and dinner night on Tuesday, November 30thO'Dea will "Take Over the Pond" at Foothills Mall with free ice skating (admission and skates included) for everyone associated with O'Dea Elementary.  We will have the whole rink to ourselves between 4 and 8 pm. This also coincides with Dinner Night Out at Smok between 4:00 and 8:00 pm.  Twenty percent of the proceeds will go to O'Dea, and people can order at the counter or call ahead for pick-up.  I am attaching the two flyers here for your review:  Skate and BBQ Night.pdf O'Dea Elementary Spirit Night at Smok.pdf

I am sure that many of you have heard about the district closure for an extended holiday break.  Schools will now be closed on Monday, November 22nd – Friday, November 26th with students returning to school on Monday, November 29th.  Please check your email for a district update which will provide more information and explanations to our district community.

As we enter this season of gratitude and thanks…know that we…as a team…are thankful for the school that we have created…the culture that thrives in our building…the work that we get to do helping raise great humans…and you.

Happy weekending,

Laurie
