Friday, January 28th Family Update

Happy Friday O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families!  It feels good to wrap up January…for some reason…it felt like the looooongest month ever! We love February…as it moves us closer to our next season…it is full of love…and it is a short and sweet month.

On a love note…our teams will be hosting Valentines’ Day parties in their classrooms this year.  We are asking that families only send prepackaged food items to school, and we are currently not hosting parent volunteers in our classrooms yet.  We are limiting the amount of time that students may be eating in the classrooms and are focusing on other ways to celebrate with fun games and activities.  We look at this as nothing short of an opportunity get creative with our festivities and party planning.

With February right around the corner…you can view our calendar here February 2022 Family .pdf to see what we are up to this month and what specials block that we are in as well.

Please continue to send your children to school with masks if you are able.  We are providing masks for students the best that we can and we go through hundreds of them each day.  We are providing KN95 masks to students if they need a mask and are still counting on our families to send children to school with masks if they can.

Please also remember that supervision does not start on our playground until 8:50 each morning.  We have a few students arriving on campus around 8:30 each morning and that worries me that they are outside for a chunk of time without an adult.  Please help be sure they are not arriving early…thank you!

We hosted our Virtual School Accountability Committee meeting last night and it was a small yet mighty group.  There were some great thoughts shared and great questions asked.  As we move into spring and our budgeting/staffing planning season…we will be reaching out to connect and share again.  If you are interested in learning more about our budget planning process and staffing plan thoughts for next year…be sure to tune into the meeting scheduled on Thursday, April 7th at 6:30.

I hope that everyone enjoys this beautiful weekend before us.  Temperatures are rising and the sun will be out!

Happy weekending,

Laurie
