Friday, February 18th Family Update

Happy Friday O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families!  What a perfect week of sun…warmth…snow…and big blue skies.  It is typical Colorado weather…and I just love it.  Thank you for being responsive to the changing weather and sending your children to school prepared for recess outside in flip flops…or snow boots!

We launched our week with a Valentine's Day full of love and fun.  Our Heart O’ Gram team sold over 900 Heart O’Grams that were delivered on Monday…900!  That is a whole lotta love that was swirling around the building that day.  All of the proceeds to this sale will go to support our fifth graders attending Eco Week next year.

This was also the first week at school without masks being required.  It was a week filled with support for everyone.  We have a healthy balance of our school community remaining masked…and a good chunk of those who are unmasked…and we are here to support both choices.  Our students and staff are respectful of everyone in our building.  I will say that it has been lovely to be able to see everyone’s smile again.  My favorite comment of the week was when a child told one of our teachers, “Oh…I just love your NOSE!”.

Please remember that we do not have school on Monday, February 21st so please enjoy a long three-day weekend with your people.  On a fun Tuesday note…since it will be Tuesday, February 22, 2022…we are 2/22/2022 wearing tutus and ties or tie dyes to school to celebrate.  If you have a spare tutu…tie…or anything tie dyed…at home…feel free to let your child wear it to school!

Thank you as always for being so supportive…kind…and caring. Our school community has grown so strong over these past two years, and I am thankful that we have been able to stand shoulder to shoulder with each other as we faced the challenges together.  Thank you…it simply means to world to us.

Please reach out if you need anything…we are here to help.

Much love and support,

Laurie
