Happy Friday O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families! It has been chilly outside this week…yet the inside of our building has been warm…cozy…and full of laughter…love…and learning. The students have been staying inside this week as we do not go outside for recess unless it is above 17 degrees…so I am looking forward to the warmer weather in the forecast.
Next week we are launching our Read Across America Spirit Week! This is an opportunity to celebrate books and everything that they bring to our lives. I am attaching the Spirit Week Flyer here so that you can encourage and support your child participating each day. It is always such a fun time of year! February always feels like such a short month…and it is hard to believe that March is already upon us. I am attaching our March calendar here for your refrigerators. March 2022 Family.pdf
Our specialists have been busy creating some amazing opportunities for your children this month. Please check out their newsletter here to stay in the loop. Block #7 Specials Newsletter.pdf
A special thank you goes out to our amazing PTA…you support our classroom teachers through mini grants…you create opportunities for families to dine together in our community (Thank you to everyone who went to Torchy’s Tacos last night!)…you write Nature In the City grants to beautify our grounds…and for helping us begin planning a spring event for families on our campus. It seems like forever since we have been able to bring our school community together…yet with our local mandates lifting…it looks like we will be able to host an event before we wrap up this school year. Stay tuned for more information later this spring!
Thank you again for sending us your lovely children. They have been so flexible through all of our shifts and changes and continue to amaze me with their persistence…patience…and grit. You are all doing an amazing job…keep it up!
As always…please reach out with any questions…we are here to help.
Much love and support,
Laurie
