Family Update - Wednesday, December 14th

Happy Wednesday O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families!  This will be the last official family update of the 2022 school year!  That feels lovely and crazy…all at once.  We will be wrapping up the year with some great learning…and will send the children home for the holidays on Wednesday, December 21st.  We will miss them while they are gone…we will enjoy the time with our own people…and then happily scoop them all back up on Thursday, January 5th.

I also have some news to share, and I believe that Max said it best, “Let the Wild Rumpus Begin!”  I wanted to let you all know that this will be my last year as principal of O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary and that I am off to Asuncion, Paraguay to take over the helm of the elementary level at The American School of Asuncion in July.  I am full of gratitude for the love and support that I have received from everyone over the course of my fifteen-year tenure at O’Dea and I will miss our school community and all the children very much.  I have learned a lot…laughed a lot…and loved a lot during my time here and it has made me a better leader.  It has always been in my heart to serve children…and it has also always been in my heart to see the world.  It is time for this next adventure, and I am ready for it.

The district will be reaching out to our school community over the course of the next month as they work to post…interview and hire for my position.  My goal is to create a meaningful transition for our next leader and to ensure that it is smooth and seamless.

I look forward to being with you through the spring semester…until I see you again…happy holidays…stay warm…much love,
