Happy happy birthday to US O’Dea Core Knowledge Elementary families!  I am sending out our parent email a bit early as this evening we are hosting the biggest party of the year…our 60th Birthday Party and Core Knowledge Fair!

We are super excited to celebrate with our school community…past and present…rain or shine…we will be coming together to showcase our school…our history…our love and the pride that we have for our campus.  It is hard to believe that we are turning 60 this year…our campus has been growing great humans for quite a long time.  It has been lovely to see the responses from our current families…and even more so…the responses from our former students as well.  Just this week I received a first day of kindergarten photo from a gentleman who started here in 1965.  It just filled my heart!

I hope that you can join us between 5:30 – 7:30 to check out the Core Knowledge Projects…Decades Booths…Silent Auction and to enjoy some food from the variety of food trucks that we will have on campus.  Families are welcome to buy food outside and then bring it into our cafeteria to enjoy. It will be an outstanding night for sure!

I am also attaching a letter from our new principal for next year, Dr. Alex Martin.  He will be at our birthday celebration this evening so please keep an eye out for him and stop to say hello.  He has also been visiting our campus this month…meeting with our teachers…connecting with our students and attending our PTA meetings as well.  We are laying a smooth runway for him to transition to O’Dea next year.  O'Dea Intro Parent Letter.docx

There are many events coming up after this one as we continue towards the end of the year.  I am reattaching our calendar here for your review so that you don’t miss a thing!  May 2023 Family.pdf

I hope you all have lovely mornings…and that you are able to swing by this evening.  It is always good to celebrate together.

Much love and support,
