Weekly Family Update 1/12/24

Happy 2024!  We had a great first week back and staff was excited to welcome our O’Dea Owls into 2024.  We had some great news from Poudre School District!

  1. We will be getting a new playground in 2024/25!  The PSD Board approved O’Dea to get new playground equipment during the summer!
  2. O’Dea was projected this year at 405 students – in October we had 432 students present!  To account for our additional students, we have received additional district funds.  We plan to higher a 4th grade paraprofessional to assist with larger class sizes and reserve a large portion for next year staff support (Want to learn more? Come to SAC on 1/30!).

We have two upcoming opportunities for parents to learn more about O’Dea, collaborate on our strategic planning, and ask any questions that are on your mind.  Parent voice and collaboration is very important to O’Dea and we have two upcoming opportunities to amplify parent voice!

1/26 - New Principal Coffee Talk @ 8:00 – Join Dr. Martin for an open Q and A and informational session.  Ask questions, learn about O’Dea, and give us some feedback!  Bring questions, concerns or listen to important O’Dea updates!

1/30 - School Accountability Committee 5-6pm – Review O’Dea school data and school goals for this year and next year.  Parents learn about O’Dea current level of success, strategic priorities, and provide input on our next steps to keep O’Dea great!  If you are interested in joining this committee, we will have one more meeting on 4/2.  Please let me know if you have questions or can attend (e: alexm@psdsschools.org)!

Reminder – Please do not send over-the-counter medications with students to school - we want to keep all students safe and have district protocols around this.  Parents/guardians can work with our Nurse Tech Sara Daveline to have over-the- counter medication safely stored in the health office.

Don’t forget No School Monday!
