I teach because I know there is greatness in each student. I once read a quote that “the cure for cancer could be in this room”… that is why I teach. I am passionate about people, about finding the best in every person, and about humans loving humans. To me, teaching is love in its purest form.
I am married and we have a daughter, Layla. She keeps me busy... in a good way! I am a twin and also have another sister and one brother. We all live in Colorado, although we are all originally from Minnesota.
I have a BA in Art History and an MA in Elementary Education from the University of Northern Colorado. I am endorsed in Elementary Education and Linguistically Diverse Education.
I am originally from Bloomington, Minnesota. I guess you can say I am a real Minnesota Twin!
I love going to spinning class, swimming, hiking, and playing softball. I have always loved making and looking at art. My favorite thing to do is to find ways to make learning even more fun and meaningful! I love changing our classroom and adding to it!
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.” ~Dr. Seuss
My favorite book is "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein.
My favorite National League baseball team is the Rockies, and my favorite American League team is the Minnesota Twins!
I am so excited to be teaching 3rd grade this year! We are going to have so much fun!
