Hi! My name is Cherie Maul (previously Ms. DeMello) and I absolutely LOVE being a 5th grade teacher at O'Dea!! I recently got married this summer which is super exciting! My family and I have always been very close and they are my biggest fans. My wonderful husband is a physical education teacher which makes for the best teacher support system ever! We have lived in Fort Collins for many years now and we absolutely love it. My family means the world to me... they are the reason I'm here today! I am so grateful to be part of the O'Dea family as we all have so much love and passion for the lifestyle of teaching!
I graduated from the University of Northern Colorado - Sport & Exercise Science Physical Education K-12. I also have my endorsement in Elementary Education K-6
Although I consider Colorado to be my home, I was born in Southern California in a small town called Tehachepi. I moved to Colorado when I was ten years old and never looked back. I enjoy visiting the sunny beaches of California, but there is something special about Colorado that has stolen my heart.
I love being active as much as possible! Running, biking, hiking, walking are some of my favorite outdoor activities. In the summer time my fiance and I love to go camping up the Poudre Canyon. Spending time with my loved ones and relaxing are also some of my favorite hobbies outside of teaching.

I love all of our Colorado sports! Go Broncos, Nuggets, and Rockies!!
Inside our classroom you will notice an accepting, loving, and joyful atmosphere where hard work and a positive attitude pays off! You will see students being part of a classroom family where we all look out for one another. I believe I have a little magic that opens the eyes of my students to see and experience their full potential. In the end, my students feel stronger, brighter, wiser, inspired and most of all loved unconditionally! I promise I will be here to support your child every step of the way. They will enjoy every moment of his or her 5th grade adventure!
