My husband and I are raising five beautiful children. We have a sophomore in high school, three middle schoolers-6th, 7th, and 8th grades-and a fourth grader. Our house is full and active with our large, close, active family and our two golden labs.
I have a background in voice performance and musical theatre from my post high school college adventures. After ten years as a stay at home mom, actively involved with volunteer work in my childrens' classrooms I decided to go back to school for Elementary and Special Education graduating from Grand Canyon University in April 2017. I am currently pursuing further education in a Master's program in Curriculum and Instruction at Grand Canyon University--expected completion 2019.

I enjoy spending time with my family, cheering my kiddos on in their athletics, academics, and arts pursuits. When I have free time I work on building my musical skills, and reading--I am currently reading non-fiction American history, I read Washington's Spies over the summer and am currently digging into The Quartet and plan to read Hamilton next. My husband and I enjoy the theatre and can often be found taking in a performance at the Buell in Denver or Midtown Arts center here in town.
"Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent." Victor Hugo
I enjoy reading the classics, I cannot put my finger on one favorite but at the top of my list are Little Women, Les Miserables, To Kill a Mockingbird, Pygmalion, The Great Gatsby, The Odyssey, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and All Quiet on the Western Front.
As a Colorado native I bleed blue and Orange, always cheerng on my Denver Broncos
My classroom is a welcoming and inviting space where students can feel safe to be brave, take chances, make mistakes, learn, and grow. I am dedicated to nurturing a love of music in all students and helping each young learner transform into great musicians. We will explore instruments, learn about the world through the musical expressions of different cultures, investigate the many different composers, eras and genres of music, and learn to express ourselves through music and movement. We have a new curriculum this year, the students are loving the variety and interactivty invoilved with each lesson and I am thrilled to see each student discovering the musician within.
