Kinder Families,

We are so excited to welcome the next generation of O'Dea Owls!  We have three Kindergarten Teachers - Marjorie Myers, Kendall Warnimont, and Erin Behls - this team brings years of experience and is ready to guide your student through an amazing year of teaching and learning!  Below is the Kindergarten Calendar that outlines important events for August!

2026-27 August Kindergarten Calendar

8/3 and 8/4 (9:00-2:30) Kindergarten Registration

Time designated for families to register for kindergarten.  We will have O’Dea Office Staff and computers available to help families register.  If you are registered already, you do not need to attend!  Please bring Proof of Address (utility bill/lease agreement) and Birth Certificate.

8/12 and 8/13 (12:00-4:00) O’Dea’s Kindergarten Round Up

We invite incoming Kindergarten students to O’Dea’s Kindergarten Round Up.  The purpose of this day is to get to know your child individually and help us create balanced classrooms across classes by learning about your student's strengths and Kindergarten Readiness in a quick 20-minute meeting.  Parents will be invited to relax in the shade while we get to know your child.

Parents can sign up for a time with this link -  https://signup.com/go/vUabUzb

8/14 Classroom Teacher Assignment Lists Sent to Parents by 3:00pm

8/18 O’Dea Backpack and Supply Drop Off Popsicle Party 4:00-5:30pm

Meet your teacher, drop off your backpack, meet the O’Dea community and enjoy a popsicle.

8/19 and 8/20 Kindergarten Staggered Start

The start of kindergarten is a big day for students.  To help with this, we start small by having two staggered start days.  This staggered start allows students to transition from summer to school in smaller groups so that they can receive more individualized attention.  On Wednesday, August 19, one-half of the students in each classroom will come to school.  The 2nd half will attend on Thursday, August 20.  Friday, August 21 will be the first day with all Kindergarteners.
