Welcome O’Dea Families!
On behalf of the O’Dea PTA, we would like to welcome you to another year at O’Dea Elementary! We hope you will take the time to read through this document to learn more about O’Dea PTA, what we do, and how you can get involved. We are gearing up for another amazing year and already have families asking how they can help. Of course, this will be a very different year than those in the past. The changes brought about by COVID will challenge us all and we need your help. We would love to hear your ideas.

What is O’Dea PTA? O'Dea Parent Teacher Association is an organization of parents and teachers working to make the O'Dea Core Knowledge Elementary School experience the best for our students. Your 2020-21 PTA board members are listed below and can be reached by sending an email to email@example.com.

What does O’Dea PTA do? Our O’Dea PTA brings funds and resources to our school community to improve our students’ educational experience. For example, support the 5th grade Eco Week adventure…provide funds for the library renovation…create specialized projects each year to focus on areas of improvement within our school. We also provide funds for each teacher in our building to allow them to purchase materials to enhance their instruction. We also host and support community building events like our Back to School popsicle party…Kindergarten Picnic…Fall Family Dinner…Spring Dinner and other events that bring our families together to build connections and relationships that enhance the learning experience at O’Dea Core Knowledge and bring us closer as a community.
How do we do it? We raise funds for our school by coordinating the annual Fun Run. However, this year’s Fun Run will be postponed due to the hardship Covid is presenting. Here’s how we are adapting – Our main funding mechanism for 2020 will be through grocery purchases at King Soopers. Whether you are a PTA member or not, please look for information on how to link your King Soopers frequent buyer card to O’Dea Elementary. Last year we raised $3,700 through this opportunity. PTA will encourage additional funding through scanning box tops and the O’Dea PTA Donation page.
Who can join? Everyone—parents, educators, students, and other citizens active in their schools and communities— is invited to join our association. Click here to join
Why join? There are many reasons to join O’Dea PTA. Most members join to:
- Be more involved in our school
- Learn more about O’Dea, Poudre School District, and the needs of our students
- Meet other parents & connect with teachers and staff
- Support the work we do collectively to help children, families, and schools
What‘s the time commitment? Although we do rely on volunteers, we appreciate everyone’s membership, whether or not you can volunteer. We strive to increase parent, community members and teacher engagement. Coming to our meetings or getting on our volunteer email list is a great way to start.
What about membership dues? To join PTA, the annual membership due is $6.25 plus processing fee. These dues go directly to The National and State PTA to help support our O'Dea PTA.
