Weekly Family Owl Update April 17

O'Dea Owl Families,

It's hard to believe we've arrived at the end of April!  We have many celebrations and events coming up and look forward to seeing everyone at 5/15 Core Fair (5:30-8:00!  Don’t forget NO SCHOOL TOMORROW – enjoy your 3-Day weekend.

We wrapped up CMAS today – special thanks to 3rd-5th students and families!  These assessments are a valuable tool to understand student learning on an individual and school level!  Results take a little time, and you can expect reports to be sent home when we return in the fall.  We will also share school results in the fall with our Parent School Accountability Team and in the newsletter.

Don't forget we have the O’Dea Spring Musical this Tuesday at Fort Collins High School, 7:00-8:30. This is a magical performance designed, directed, and facilitated by O’Dea students.  Special shout out to Mrs. McClaren for creating an opportunity for future musicians, actors, directors, and artists shine!  Please take a look at two student-generated flyers - created by Eleanor Little and Matteo Baldwin* (Flyer 1 & Flyer 2)

4/30 O’Dea Dinner Night Out at Bad Daddy’s Burger Bar (5-9 pm) - Mention O'Dea Elementary and 20% of the sale will be donated to O'Dea. Dine-in & To Go Orders only, cannot be applied to online orders.  Dinner Night Out events are a great way to have a yummy dinner and connect with the O'Dea community :).

Mark your calendars—Core Fair is May 15th, 5:30-8:00. Please join us for an evening of fun and celebration of the O’Dea community! Like the last two years, we will have an action-packed evening: Jr. Choir will be performing, a live band—The Waido Experience—will be playing, food trucks will be present, specials will be showcased, Core Knowledge Student Projects will be presented, a Silent Basket Auction will be held, and more!

Fun Run and PTA Funds Update – Marquee is moving forward, AND we received some fantastic news.  PSD, let us know that they will be funding this completely!  PSD allocated some of the 24/25 Mill Levy initiative to support. We raised $20,000 for this during the Fall Fun Run.  These funds will be held in reserve until next year – we are working with PTA and O’Dea Staff to identify where these extra funds can support O’Dea the best.

CONGRATULATIONS to the following students who currently have artwork on display at the Poudre School District: Designs and Images Art Show from April 10-May 7 at the Foothills Mall! https://docs.google.com/document/d/1_4oblSQ0_IXQr61v06yZQ2JaK62DXq3b1KE0vvEFVX8/edit?usp=sharing
