Family Weekly Owl Update May 23

O'Dea Owl Families,

We had a wonderful Field Day today! Mr. Mohs put on an extravaganza that brought fun, smiles, and celebration to every student at O’Dea. Thanks to all the parents who joined us today!

We are bringing back the O’Dea Summer Reading and Adventure Log! Students who complete 15 hours of reading and adventure will be able to have an ice cream and extra recess party in August! These forms will be coming home with students next week!

Student Classroom Placement Forms will come next week on the last day of the school year!  We will have a new 4th-grade Teacher, Ms. Nina Watters, and Mrs. Sutton will be transitioning to 3rd Grade!

We are excited for our 63rd class of O’Dea Owls Graduates. 5th Grade commencement begins at 9:15, and 5th grade parents are invited to our annual parent/student kickball game at 11:15!

O’Dea Gear Clothing Drive—Grown out of your O’Dea Gear? We are now accepting gently used O’Dea gear (shirts/sweatshirts) to ensure that all students have a piece. The office team/PTA will work to recycle your gear so all students have an opportunity to show school spirit. Feel free to stop in the front office or bring your gear to Core Fair and drop it in the box outside the office.

“Green Thumbs Wanted! O’Dea is on the hunt for a Nature Center Coordinator! Do you love dirt, sunshine, and watching things grow (including kids)? Help us keep our school's nature center blooming and buzzing with life! No horticulture degree required—just a love for plants, creativity, and the joy of getting your hands a little muddy with some eager young gardeners.    Interested? Sprout a message to the PTA—we’d love to hear from you!”

Last Day of School we will dismiss @ 12:13

Health Office Update

  • Student Medication - As we near the end of the year, this is a reminder that if your child has medications in the Health Office, parents/guardians will need to pick it up on or before the last day of school, May 29th. Remember that the 29th is a half-day. Per PSD policy, medications cannot be sent home with your child. If they are not picked up by May 29th 12:00 pm, they will sadly be discarded, and our school nurse will follow state health department procedures to dispose of those medications properly. Thank you for your understanding.
  • Just a reminder that Poudre School District requires a Tdap vaccination for students entering 6th grade. Per the PSD website: Students are required to have Tdap prior to entry into 6th grade. It is acceptable to give as early as age 10. Only one dose of Tdap is required for 6th through 12th grades after the primary DTaP series is complete.
