Family Weekly Owl Update April 4

O'Dea Owl Families,

We had a busy week! We celebrated Autism Acceptance Week as a school with different theme/spirit days each day! O'Dea had our annual Autism Acceptance Breakfast on Friday and loved having many families join! This is a special week where we celebrate the unique talents and contributions of neurodiverse students. As a school community, this celebration helps us foster understanding and acceptance and creates a more inclusive school where everyone can thrive!

PTA would like to invite all our parent volunteers to the annual Volunteer Appreciation Celebration on April 15th @ Cafe Vino from 4:00-6:00 (Drop in any time). Please RSVP @ https://forms.gle/v8rY5rttZFkPGwn76

Celebration—O'Dea has received a District Letter of Commendation for achievement and growth in math. We have been recognized for outstanding math achievement over time with diverse populations of students!  This recognition belongs to all the hard-working teachers of O'Dea!!!

Fun Run and PTA Funds Update – Blinds have been installed and look fabulous. This is a small but mighty contribution to ensuring our learning environment is of the highest quality. Students and teachers are enjoying all the natural light! Marquee is also moving forward! We are working with PSD Facilities to get this installed over the summer! Thanks for all of your support in making O’Dea amazing.

We are approaching the time of year when we administer CMAS (Colorado Measures of Academic Success) for 3rd-5th grade students. We begin testing on April 8th and conclude on April 17th. Attendance is essential during these days to avoid make-ups – please do your best to make students are on time and ready to do their best on these important assessments. Click this link for a detailed calendar and more information. If you would like to opt out of your student – please fill out the official Opt Out Form in Parent View (Instructions here), or if you need assistance, please call Mrs. Rene in the office.

Important Announcements and Updates

As warm weather arrives, please ensure you drop off and pick up within 10 minutes of arrival/dismissal.  We only have staff supervision outside during these times, and we want to make sure all students are supervised and safe (Drop off (at 8:40 for breakfast/8:55 no breakfast) and pick up (by 3:53).

Triathlon update: We want to bring this back to O’Dea, but unfortunately, we are going to postpone it until next year. With such a large event, we want to make sure we have enough time to do it the best we can. The work we started this year will support our return to the O’Dea Triathlon in 2025-26!
