Graphic Novels

Thanks to a Library Services and Technology Act grant, we now have a large section of graphic novels in the O'Dea library.  They have been wildly successful so far!  

Here are answers to some questions you might have about graphic novels:

  • What are graphic novels?
    • Graphic novels are book-length comics.  They tell stories through a combination of words and pictures.
  • Why have graphic novels in the library?
    • Kids love them!
    • They are usually some of the most popular and most read books in the library.
    • They turn reluctant readers into avid book promoters.
  • Who can check out graphic novels?
    • Graphic novels are available for checkout for all 3rd through 5th grade students.
