Family Weekly Owl Update 4/12/2024

O’Dea Owls,

We had a great week at O’Dea!  Our 5th grade students rocked CMAS this week and we appreciate the 4th grade students efforts last week!  The highlight of our week was the solar eclipse and I want to give a giant shout to O’Dea staff for making the eclipse a wonderful learning experience for O’Dea students!!!

Thanks for being an amazing community and have a wonderful weekend!

PTA is Treating our Teachers on 4/17 and is looking for help – if you can help they would love some support!

(New) We have new O’Dea stickers available for purchase in the office $3.00 each or 2 for $5.00.

Teacher Updates – Patti Zamora will be moving from Kindergarten to 5th Grade!  Kendall Warnimont (current 1st) will be moving to Kindergarten!  We have hired a wonderful veteran teacher for 1st Grade next year – Tara Woodroof – coming to us from Harris Bilingual Elementary School.

(New) Jennie Born (current 4th Grade) will be leaving us next year for a new teaching adventure! We have hired Stacey Ogden – Stacey comes to us from Rice Elementary School and is an experienced 4th Grade Teacher!  Rosalie King (current Art Teacher) is moving closer to home and helping open a school in Windsor.  We have hired Jennifer Metcalf – Jennifer comes to us from Dunn Elementary School and has over 25 years of experience!  We will miss Mrs. Born and Mrs. King – thankyou for all of your work to make O’Dea amazing!

3rd and 5th Grade continue CMAS next week!  This is an incredibly valuable assessment that informs us on student learning, instruction, and how we are doing as a school.  Please help us show O’Dea’s greatness by ensuring a great night’s sleep and full breakfast so students can show us what they know!

Yearbooks – There is still some time to order!  We have a small amount left – so if you would like a 23/24 yearbook here is the order form.
