Family Owl Update May 2

O'Dea Owl Families,

This week, we celebrated the first PSD Elementary Unified Track Meet. This Special Olympics event allows students with special needs to participate in track and field events. We sent around twenty students with peer helpers. It was a fantastic event, and all the O'Dea students had a great experience!

Next week is a super special week: Teacher Appreciation Week!!!  We are so excited to celebrate all of the outstanding teachers at O’Dea. This week is about celebrating every educator at O’Dea for making the world a better place.  Our teachers pour their heart and soul into making O'Dea an amazing place and next week we are excited to celebrate them!  Thanks to PTA for helping us make this an unforgettable week for teachers!  Want to help?  We have several ways for parents to help next week!  See below......

From the Health Office

  • Student Medication - As we near the end of the year, this is a reminder that if your child has medications in the Health Office, parents/guardians must pick them up on or before the last day of school, May 29th. Remember that the 29th is a half-day. Per PSD policy, medications cannot be sent home with your child. If they are not picked up by May 29th, 12:00 pm, they will sadly be discarded, and our school nurse will follow state health department procedures to dispose of those medications properly. Thank you for being so understanding.
  • This is just a reminder that the Poudre School District requires a Tdap vaccination for students entering 6th grade. Per the PSD website, Students are required to have Tdap prior to entry into 6th grade. It is acceptable to give it as early as age 10. Only one dose of Tdap is required for 6th through 12th grades after the primary DTaP series is complete.
